NRA Basic Rifle Course

The NRA Basic Rifle Course is designed to teach the knowledge, skills and attitude necessary for owning and using a rifle safely. The course is perfect for the new rifle owner and serves as an introductory course for more advanced hunting or competition rifle match training. The basics of marksmanship are the lifelong building blocks for many other hunting or shooting sports. The goal of the Basic Rifle course familiarizes you with the correct operation and maintenance all types of Rifles, along with teaching you how to handle and shoot them safely.

Any person of good character who is not legally disqualified from possessing a rifle in the U.S. can attend this class. Any person less than 18 years of age may only take this course with aparent adult guardian.

Our team of NRA Certified Rifle Instructors will teach this course over 14 hours. Please note that depending on the class size and participation the instructors may adjust lesson time to assure sufficient skill development.

Topics include:

  • Rifle Knowledge and Safe Gun Handling
  • Ammunition Knowledge and the Fundamental of Safe Rifle Operations
  • Fundamentals of Rifle Marksmanship
  • Proper Cleaning and Storage of all types of Rifles
  • Firing the First Shots
  • Shooting Sports and related activities along with advice on selection of a Rifle

This course combines classroom instruction along with live fire range time. Aero-Tech Firearms Inc. provides all targets and needed documentation along with the NRA course materials.

What To Bring:

  • * Safe firearm
  • *50 rounds of ammunition
  • Eye protection
  • Ear protection
  • Cleaning materials.

*Aero-Tech can provide the firearm and ammunition for a small additional fee

Fee: $95.00 per-person. Per-registration is required.

I took your class this past Saturday. I wanted you to know it was very enjoyable. Your scenarios made me realize what a responsibility it is to carry. It seems like if you know a place could be trouble and you used to stay a block away, if you are carrying a gun you should stay 2 blocks away, but if trouble comes to you , you are prepared..
